Malcolm MacPhee’s excuse was tendered in a letter to Wick Sheriff Court. MacPhee, 35, pleaded guilty to exceeding the 50mph limit on the A836 Murkle straight, on September 25, last year. He was caught travelling at 72mph. The accused, of 12 Churchill Road, in the village of Castletown, was ordered to appear personally for sentence on March 31.
