Inverness man jailed after breaching court order twice

A 23-year-old man who twice breached a community payback order was jailed for four months at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday.
Donald Macrae, of the city’s Greenwood Place, had been incarcerated once before for failing to comply with the court order.
However Sheriff Margaret Neilson gave him a second chance to complete it and yesterday solicitor Duncan Henderson said his client had only co-operated with some of the requirements.
Macrae had previously pleaded guilty to having sex with an under age girl between July 2012 and December 2012 and was also placed on the sex offender’s register.
The sheriff told Macrae: “You cannot cherry pick what you want to do. You have been given every opportunity to comply with this order and you have failed to do so.
“You have left me with no option but to impose a custodial sentence. It is not your first breach. Given that you have complied with some parts of the order, I will restrict the sentence to one of four months.”
Macrae also had his period on the sex offender’s register extended to seven years.
