A keen Inverness gardener was arrested after shoving his wife in a family row over plants.
First offender Angus Hamilton, who is 65 and cares for his wife Sandra, admitted assaulting her by pushing her on the body on May 15.
Inverness Sheriff Court heard Hamilton’s adult sons were hosing moss off the roof of his home in Suilven Way on Monday morning when he went to remonstrate with them.
Fiscal depute Ross Carvel said Hamilton pushed his wife. His sons reported the incident to the police, Mr Carvel added.
Hamilton’s lawyer Alison Foggo told Sheriff David Sutherland that her client was a keen gardener and became irate at the damage being done to his plants.
Sentence was deferred for a background report until June 8.
