James Boa, 23, of Glen Road, Dervaig, on Mull, was fined a total of £1,080 and banned from driving for 20 months. He pleaded guilty to drink driving on Main Street, Tobermory on February 12. Boa admitted driving carelessly during the same incident by colliding with two parked vehicles, causing damage. Fiscal Eoin McGinty said: “Both cars, as well as the car driven by the accused, were extensively damaged.” The court heard Boa had been out watching the rugby in the pub before getting behind the wheel. Solicitor William MacKay said the fish farm worker was staying with a friend nearby and could have walked.
