Police have charged three men in connection with the death of a man in Fraserburgh at the weekend.
Gary Clampett died in a house during a “large-scale disturbance” on Fernie Place early on Sunday.
The alarm was raised after neighbours heard shouting, screaming and loud banging.
Police have confirmed that three local men, aged 36, 39 and 45 had been charged in connection with Mr Clampett’s death.
The man leading the investigation, Detective Inspector Gary Winter, from the murder investigation team, last night said inquiries were still ongoing despite the arrests.
He said: “I would like to thank the members of the public who have assisted with our investigation so far.
“I would also like to thank the local community for your continued patience.
“Our inquiries are still ongoing and a strong police presence will remain in the area while these are carried out.”
The three men are expected to appear in Peterhead Sheriff Court tomorrow.
