A sixth man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a Fraserburgh dad.
David Graham is accused of acting along with five others before murdering 39-year-old handyman Gary Clampett.
He is further accused of attempting to kill two other people during an incident on Sunday, June 18.
Graham, 45, appeared in private at Peterhead Sheriff Court yesterday. He made no plea and was remanded in custody.
He joins John Henderson, 46, Gary Martin, 36, Thomas Martin, 44, Barry Martin, 31 and 39-year-old Joseph Martin who have all already appeared in the dock charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder.
None of the men – who all made a second appearance in Peterhead yesterday – offered pleas at court and remain in custody.
Mr Clampett is believed to have died following an alleged fight at a house in Fraserburgh’s Fernie Place.
Police were called to the area around 4am after neighbours reported shouts, screams and bangs coming from the street. An ambulance crew was unable to save Mr Clampett at the scene.
The 39-year-old only married last year and recently welcomed a baby daughter with his wife Sharon Graham.
Ms Graham’s son, Gordon, described Mr Clampett as a “legend” in a social media post. He said: “I love and miss you to bits. You were the best guy I’ve met.”
The death of Mr Clampett is the latest tragedy to strike the Graham family.
Patriarch Gordon Graham was allegedly murdered in a flat fire in Fraserburgh 19 years go. Three years later his teenage son Dean was found dead at another flat in the town.
In 2002 eldest boy James, 26, died following a car crash near Rosehearty.
Anyone with information about what happened at Fernie Place is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
As well as an increased police presence in the town, officers have been knocking on doors to try to piece together the circumstances of Mr Clampett’s death.
