An Argyll man who asked two teenage girls to send him indecent images was placed on the Sex Offenders Register yesterday.
William Stewart, 28, of Seaside Park, Ardrishaig, appeared at Oban Sheriff Court yesterday.
He pleaded to verbally asking one of the girls and in a written message on the App snapchat, the other, if they would send images of a sexual nature to him.
The offences took place between 2015 and 2016 in Tarbert and elsewhere when each of the girls had reached the age of 13 but not 16.
Sheriff Patrick Hughes told Stewart: “These is an extremly serious and concerning charges which involves the exploitation of young children.”
He added that right-thinking people would react with “disgust” to his “predatory” behaviour.
Stewart was placed on a two-year supervision order. During that period all of his mobile phone devices must be available for monitoring by police and social workers.
He must not approach or contact anyone under the age of 18 and he was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service.
He was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for the duration of the order.
