A Moray man has appeared in court following a disturbance on a residential street earlier this week.
Lee Campbell, from Elgin, has been charged with a breach of the peace for an incident on Stuart Street in Forres.
Police were involved in a standoff with the 26-year-old for about six hours after responding to calls late on Monday evening.
Officers arrested him as he attempted to leave the house through a ground floor window in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Yesterday Campbell appeared in private at Elgin Sheriff Court following the incident – he made no plea or declaration in response to the single charge.
He had his case committed for further examination before being released on bail.
About a dozen residents were forced to leave their homes while the drama unfolded as specialist police negotiators attempted to coax Campbell out of the home.
A rest centre was opened at the town’s community centre while some neighbours spent the night with friends. Locals were allowed to return home again at about 3am.
Gas supplies were cut off to the street during the incident but were restored again the next day.
Fire crews and an ambulance were also called to the street, which was sealed off, but were not required.
