Police welcome conviction for men who raped teen in Highland flat

Police have welcomed the conviction of two men found guilty of raping a teenager in an Invergordon home in 2016.
Alexander Stewart, 20, and Christopher Drummond, will be sentenced at a later date.
Detective Inspector Andy Logan of the Public Protection Unit said: “I welcome the conviction of these two men, who will now face the consequences of their actions
“We are fully aware of the impact crimes such as this have on victims. I would like to commend the bravery and strength of character of the victim, both in coming forward and throughout the following investigation andjudicial process.
“There is no place for sexual abuse in our communities and I would reiterate that any reports, no matter when or where the incident happened, will be taken seriously and thoroughly investigated by dedicated officers.”
