This is the shocking moment a man gets thrown into the side of a moving car in a street fight in the centre of Inverness.
The violent encounter was filmed by an onlooker as it unfolded in Academy Street in broad daylight on Monday.
At the start of the clip a man wearing a striped top is heard shouting “get off me” as another man in a black top is seen pulling him into the road.
As the fight progresses one of the men throws the other against a moving silver car as the driver tries to avoid the fracas.
One of the man’s shoes comes off during the battle as they both end up on the ground, with the man in the striped top gripping onto the other man’s hooded top.
A man was remanded in custody pending background reports at the city’s sheriff court yesterday.
Noel Sutherland, 28, of Glendoe Terrace, pleaded guilty to two charges of assaulting two men on September 4 in Bridge Street and Academy Street.
His pleas came in the wake of a Police Scotland statement praising the public for providing information about the incidents.
The force also promised an enhanced presence in the city centre to prevent repetitions of unruly behaviour.
Sutherland admitted assaulting Ian Chisholm on Bridge Street by repeatedly punching him on the head and body, kicking him on the body, seizing him by the body and pushing him into a moving vehicle.
The second charge he pleaded guilty to was assaulting Steven Johnstone on Academy Street by repeatedly punching and kicking him on the head and body, sitting astride him while he was on the ground and attempting to stamp on his head to his injury.
Police said the Bridge Street incident happened at about 3.34pm and the Academy Street incident 10 minutes later.
Inspector Mark Rasdale said: “I’d like to take the opportunity to thank all the members of the public who provided information about these incidents, which allowed officers to respond quickly and apprehend an individual.
“Police Scotland will not tolerate behaviour like this in the city centre and the public will see an increased police presence over the coming days.
