A 22-year-old Sheffield man was jailed for 15 months yesterday after admitting dealing drugs in Inverness.
Malachi Reid, of Ashberry Road, admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin between late July and early August last year.
Inverness Sheriff Court was told that police were tipped off about Reid and a vehicle he was in.
The Fiat 500 was intercepted and although Reid tried to run away, he was quickly arrested, carrying a bag with a maximum value of £10,090 of heroin in it.
Defence solicitor Clare Russell said her client, who admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin, was in financial difficulties and entered into the operation “with his eyes wide open”.
