Inverness man sexually assaulted girl, 12, in city playpark

An Inverness man who sexually assaulted a 12 year old girl in a city playpark was placed on the Sex Offender’s Register for two years yesterday.

Damien Straszewski, of Birchwood Court, was also put under two year’s social work supervision and ordered to participate in a sex offender’s rehabilitation programme.

Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald said: “This is a serious offence but I have taken into account your young age and lack of record. But it is an alternative to a custodial sentence.”

The 20-year-old admitted kissing the girl on the mouth in the Woodlands Play Park at Inshes Wood Estate on April 10.
