A row with his wife of 27 years resulted in a £400 fine and a ticking off from a Sheriff.
Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood told 44 year old Bartosz Zawitaj of Balachlan Drive, Inverness: “If you want to act like a bully and a thug, I will treat you like one.”
Inverness Sheriff Court was told that Zawitaj returned home from work on June 20 and there was an argument with his spouse.
He admitted assaulting her by struggling with her, throwing her against a wall and striking her on the head with a pillow and his hand.
Defence solicitor Patrick O’Dea said: “She was hitting him and he retaliated. They are now reconciled.”
