A Wick man who admitted being concerned in the supply of drugs to teenagers has been jailed for nine months.
Ernest Watt, 45, made cannabis resin available to a youth who sold it to two teenagers, aged 15 and 16, Wick Sheriff Court heard yesterday.
Solicitor Michael Burnett said that although Watt had provided the Class B drug he had not been involved in actual dealing.
Sheriff Andrew Berry, who saw a background report told Watt, of Macrae Street, Wick: “It states you appear to have a disregard of the risk cannabis could have on young brains still developing. You are either mercenary, immature or reckless. You appear to have no real understanding of the gravity of offences associated with drug dealing which is very worrying.”
Watt, who pleaded guilty and admitted a record, had his sentence backdated to September 21 when he was remanded.
The offences occurred between October 1, 2016, and April 18 this year.
