A 48-year-old man has been fined £360 for carrying a Swiss Army knife in an Inverness street.
William Heron, whose address in court was given as no fixed abode, admitted carrying the blade in Kessock Road on October 13.
Fiscal depute Laura Ryan told Inverness Sheriff Court that Heron was picked up by police after they carried out checks revealing a warrant was out for his arrest from Hamilton Sheriff Court.
Defence solicitor Clare Russell said her client was carrying all of his possessions, but acknowledged he should have left the knife at a relative’s home in Swindon where had recently been staying.
Ms Russell said her client recognised it was a serious offence.
