A drunk 20-year-old woman kicked one police officer on the stomach and then attempted to bite another on the hand and body after they had tried to persuade her to go home.
Inverness Sheriff Court was told yesterday that Sally Maclennan of Smithton Park was causing a nuisance in Bridge Street on October 19 and the police were called.
She admitted two charges of police assault and was placed on a two year community payback order, banned from taking alcohol during that period and told to participate in a woman offender’s programme.
Defence solicitor David Patterson said that his client had recently lost her job and had begun drinking.
