Charles Mackenzie started shouting and swearing at Linsey Scott, and also struggled her – causing them both to fall to the ground. And when Ms Scott’s neighbour tried to intervene, she was also abused by the 29-year-old. Mackenzie, of Ardcroy Road, Croy admitted assaulting Ms Scott on July 15 when he appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday. He also pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards Maureen Macdonald. Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald was told the couple had now reconciled and Mackenzie regretted his behaviour. He was was fined £800.
