Company director denies A9 dangerous driving charge
ByReporter
A company director accused of driving dangerously and causing a canal boat to fall off his trailer will stand trial next year.
Brian Copsey, a 72 year old communications consultant from Edgcott in Aylesbury, denies the offence which allegedly occurred on July 28 this year at Daviot.
The A9 trunk road was blocked for a time as the emergency services dealt with removing the boat from the southbound carriageway and central reservation.
The charge alleges that the combined gross weight of the vehicle and trailer was excessive as was the trailer length.
Copsey didn’t appear at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday but was represented by local lawyer Duncan Henderson.
An intermediate diet was fixed for April 17 and trial on May 10.
