The incident is alleged to have taken place in a house in Inverness on December 28. Scott Ross, 32, from Alness, is also charged with assaulting the woman to her injury. Ross was represented by solicitor Graham Mann and made no plea. He was committed for further examination and remanded in custody by Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood.
