Two men have appeared in court in connection with an alleged armed robbery in Fraserburgh.
Police were called to the town’s Gray Street last Sunday after a gun was reportedly fired in a flat.
Yesterday, two men appeared in private at Peterhead Sheriff Court to face assault and robbery charges.
Scott Fowler, 38, whose address was only given as Aberdeenshire, and Slessor Buchan, 39, from Fraserburgh, made no plea or declaration and were both committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
They will appear in court again next week.
A third person was released from custody and did not appear, although the Crown said the case against her remains live and under consideration.
And last week, a 44-year-old woman – who cannot be named for legal reasons – appeared in court in connection with the case too.
Police sealed off the property following the alleged incident, with residents describing their “shock” at the drama.
They are continuing to investigate, and yesterday renewed their appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Inspector Stewart Drummond, who is leading the inquiry, said: “Our inquiries are continuing into what we believe to have been a contained and isolated incident.
“We are grateful to members of the public who have come forward with information to assist in our investigations so far.”
