A woman told a court yesterday that her chef partner repeatedly stabbed her with a knife after he got drunk at a party.
Kamil Florian, 33, is on trial before a sheriff and jury at Oban Sheriff Court.
At the time of the alleged offence on September 23, he lived at Combie Street in Oban, with his partner Olga Obuszko.
A joint minute of agreement was read out in court yesterday stating that Miss Obuszko had suffered a wound to her upper right arm of three centimetres in length and one centimetre width.
She had also suffered a puncture wound to her left torso one centimetre in diameter, a laceration to her lower left back four centimetres long and one centimetre deep, a one centimetre wound to her lower left eye and a superficial wound to the back of her head, four-five centimetres long.
She required a total of 10 stitches at Oban’s Lorn and Islands Hospital following the incident, the court heard.
Florian pleaded not guilty to assaulting her to her severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
Miss Obuszko, 27, said Florian had got drunk at a party they attended the night before and she stayed away from home after he slapped her.
But, when she returned the following day, she said he attacked her.
She added: “He was approaching me. That was when I noticed that he had a knife in his hand and he started stabbing me.
“I just wanted to run away. He grabbed me by my hair and that was when he cut my face.
“I tried to cover myself with my handbag.”
She continued: “He stabbed me on my right arm, in my back and on the left side of my lower back and also on the same side at my rib cage. I also had an injury to the back of my head.”
She said it came to an end when he left her and she ran to a neighbour’s house.
Mr McGinty said: “It could be put to you that when you returned to the flat that morning you were along with someone else, someone unknown to Kamil Florian, and that person attacked Mr Florian.
“It is likely to be suggested to you that you jumped into the middle of this to break it up and Mr Florian accidentally stabbed you on all of the occasions that he did.”
She replied: “It’s ridiculous. There was nothing like that.”
The trial continues today.
