A Beauly man who threatened to harm two underage girls if they did not send him indecent photographs of themselves through social media is facing jail.
When police traced 20-year-old Joshua Pemberton, they found other obscene and illegal still images and videos of children including six from one of his victims.
At Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday Pemberton, of Ruisaurie, admitted downloading and distributing indecent photos of children.
He also pleaded guilty to attempting to extort naked pictures of one girl by threatening her, extorting images from the second girl by threatening to rape then drown her, and causing a young girl to view an indecent video.
Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald called for a background report and deferred sentence until May 4.
She told Pemberton: “It is inevitable that the court will be considering a custodial sentence.”
