A 25-year-old joiner will be sentenced later this month after admitting being concerned in the supply of heroin in Inverness and Dingwall.
Inverness Sheriff Court heard yesterday that police had been tipped off that Joe Beach of Maltby, South Yorkshire, was supplying the Class A narcotic in the Highlands.
Fiscal depute Roderick Urquhart said that officers detained Beach on Dingwall’s High Street for a drugs search on May 13, 2016, and found a bag of heroin.
They also searched the room he had rented on a short-term let at Hillview House, in Inverness.
Found were two sports bags containing, £3,624 in cash, 35 bank deposit slips dated between February 2 and May 13, 2016, for a total of £10,505 and more heroin.
The three packets of drugs weighed 40 grams and “tick lists” recovered indicated Beach would have made £19,000 in profit.
Inquiries revealed that the cash was withdrawn from English banks on either the same day or the day after deposit.
Mr Urquhart said: “Some of the profit was banked by him for onward transmission to his associates higher up the chain of supply.”
Beach will be sentenced on April 25 after a background report had been prepared. He was remanded in custody.
