A 24-year-old Dingwall man who stole a tin containing £50 in cash from his sister will be sentenced next month.
Inverness Sheriff Court was told that after Darren Kennedy, of Peffery Road, had been arrested for the theft and released, he was re-arrested the same day on November 30 last year for illegal possession of a blade.
Kennedy admitted both offences yesterday and a background report was called for. He will re-appear on May 10.
Fiscal depute Robert Weir said Kennedy’s family had called the police after the first arrest because they were concerned for his welfare.
They told police he had a multi-tool which had a blade.
Defence solicitor Neil Wilson said “an intention to self harm is not a reasonable excuse.”
