A witness who caused a jury trial to be abandoned after failing to turn up at court was apprehended by police officers after appearing in the dock himself the following day.
A warrant had been issued for the arrest of 33-year-old James Wynn of Cluny Road in Dingwall after his non-appearance forced a serious assault case to be delayed.
He was arrested at Inverness Sheriff Court on Friday, moments after leaving the dock, having attended in connection with his own drug treatment and testing order.
Wynn spent the weekend in custody and yesterday was found in contempt of court by Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood.
He was fined £500.
