Syeda Begum is said to have repeatedly shook the child to her “severe injury, permanent impairment and danger of life”. The assault allegedly occurred at a property in Aberdeen on New Year’s Day 2017. The 28-year-old was not present today during a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow. Frances Connor, defending, pled not guilty on her behalf. Judge Lord Mulholland set a trial due to begin in August in Aberdeen. The case is expected to last for two weeks.
