Liverpool woman among those charged following north-east drugs raid

A woman from Liverpool is among those charged by police after drugs were recovered from a north-east home.

Officers raided a house in Fraserburgh’s Watermill Road on Monday and discovered crack cocaine with an estimated street value of £500.

And yesterday, Michelle Smith, 21, from Liverpool was joined by Fraserburgh woman Christabel Moir, 25, and Aberdeen woman Donna Malloy, 32, in the dock at Peterhead Sheriff Court.

They have all been charged with two counts of being concerned in the supply of drugs following the raid.

None offered any plea at the hearing, which was held in private.

They were released on bail for further examination.

Detective Sergeant George Nixon has now called on the public to voice their concerns about drug activity in their area to local officers.

Last night, he said: “Police Scotland in the north-east is committed to tackling the possession, supply and distribution of controlled drugs and we will use all available resources to assist us do this.

“Information from the public is hugely helpful to our work to disrupt the supply of drugs and I would continue to encourage anyone with concerns or information about drug misuse in their community to contact us on 101 with details.

“Descriptions of people, car details and any information about locations are all hugely helpful to us.

“We will continue to disrupt the activities of criminal groups through proactive enforcement.”

No date has been set for any of the women charged to return to court.
