A driver who intimidated another motorist by tailgating him at 100mph was banned from driving yesterday.
An interim ban was imposed on Imad Harim after he drove dangerously on the A9 and forced other motorists to get out of his way.
At Perth Sheriff Court, Harim, 46, admitted clocking speeds up to 100mph on the dual carriageway at a notorious accident blackspot near Blackford in Perthshire.
He admitted driving dangerously on the A9 Perth to Stirling road and at excessive speeds up to 100mph whilst overtaking, driving excessively close to the vehicle in front and flashing his lights to intimidate the driver.
He also pleaded guilty to intimidating the other driver into completing his overtaking manoeuvre early and returning to the inside lane to allow Harim to speed past.
Moroccan national Harim, Jasmine Terrace, Aberdeen, was given an interim driving ban and sentence was deferred for the preparation of reports.
Solicitor Paul Burnett, defending, said: “By definition, dangerous driving is always going to fall far below the standard of a careful and competent driver.”
