A 35-year-old Inverness man was jailed for four months yesterday after failing to complete a community payback order.
Robin Munro, of Mackintosh Road, had been told to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work last December after admitting threatening behaviour in the city’s McDonald’s restaurant and assaulting a police support officer.
Inverness Sheriff Court was told that police were called and found Munro singing on the pavement.
However Munro then began shouting and swearing at them.
He was taken into custody and after being placed in a cell at Burnett Road Police Station on November 22 he called for assistance.
The court was told that when a support officer arrived and looked in the cell hatch, Munro grabbed him by the clothing. The officer sustained deep scratches to his neck.
Munro had admitted behaving in a threatening manner and assault.
