A man who failed to identify himself to police as the driver of motorbike with no MOT was fined £270 at Lerwick Sheriff Court yesterday.
Kristian Hansen, 43, of Mossbank, admitted the offence which took place on the A968 between Voe and Mossbank on August 10 last year.
The court heard that police were called about the way Hansen was driving, but discovered no criminal conduct. They did find, however, that Hansen’s bike had no MOT.
When he was contacted at a later date, Hansen refused to identify himself as the driver of the bike.
As well as the fine, Sheriff Ian Cruickshank gave Hansen six penalty points and ordered his licence to be endorsed for failing to identify himself.
