A 38-year-old man is expected to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court today charged with allegedly driving while six times the legal limit.
A concerned call from a member of public was made to police who attended the scene at around 4.15pm yesterday afternoon, in the West Road area of Elgin.
The man was subsequently arrested and charged.
Road Policing Inspector Neil Morrison said: “I continue to encourage members of the public to let the Police know as soon as possible if they have concerns about someone drink driving. I’d like to thank the motorist who assisted on this occasion.”
He added: “Drink driving must not be regarded as acceptable behaviour. Support and information from the public is invaluable to assist officers in detecting and deterring suspected offenders, so if you have concerns or information please contact Police Scotland on 101.
