A 39-year-old Dingwall woman who is tackling her drug problem told a sheriff she had no intention of ever driving again.
Isobel MacAllister, of Burns Crescent, had been stopped by police on December 15 after officers were concerned about her being impaired to drive.
Inverness Sheriff Court was told that MacAllister immediately confessed to have taken methadone and other substances.
Yesterday, she admitted driving while unfit through drink or drugs, was banned from driving for a year and placed under one year’s social work supervision.
Defence solicitor advocate Mike Chapman said: “She is a needy and vulnerable woman and is making attempts to deal with her drug misuse.
“She does not see herself driving again.”
