A beauty therapist who assaulted three other women during a night out in Moray has been ordered to pay a total of £800 in fines and compensation to her victims.
Rachel Paterson, of Duff Place, Elgin, had previously admitted the attacks in Sandison’s bar on Buckie’s East Church Street on October 29 last year.
Elgin Sheriff Court was told the 30-year-old first assaulted Nicola Cunningham by throwing a plastic tumbler at her, seizing her by the hair and “repeatedly” punching her on the head.
Paterson then attacked Emma Ritchie, who she seized by the hair and “forced to the ground, then repeatedly punched on the head”.
The third victim, Eilidh Shearer, was seized by the hair.
Sheriff Gary Aitken described her offences as “serious” before delivering his sentence.
Paterson’s defence solicitor, George Mather, said his client was “deeply ashamed” by her actions and “extremely sorry” to her victims, describing it as “completely out of character”.
He also stressed that Paterson had not had any previous trouble with the law.
