A Rosehearty man has admitted punching his partner and hitting her head off a wall.
Corwin Axon, 23, attacked Emma McGinley during a row – punching her and grabbing her by the throat.
After they broke up, the 23-year-old also turned up at Miss McGinley’s home, shouting and swearing.
At Peterhead Sheriff Court yesterday, Axon admitted two charges of abusive behaviour and acting in a threatening or abusive manner. The offences happened between May 2015 and February this year.
Fiscal depute Ruairidh McAlister said the couple had been drinking at their home in Rosehearty when a row broke out one night.
He said: “There was an argument and the accused punched the complainer in the head.
“She suffered bleeding and her earring had been ripped out.
“He took hold of her by the throat and struck her head against a wall.”
Mr McAlister said the couple’s relationship ended, but on April 20 this year he turned up at Miss McGinley’s home in Fraserburgh and began shouting, swearing and repeatedly knocking on the door.
Defence agent Stuart Flowerdew said the Axon and Miss McGinley’s the circumstances surrounding their relationship were “unfortunate” and “emotional.”
Mr Flowerdew said: “He acted in a way he is not proud of. He is someone who wears his emotions very close to his skin.”
Unemployed Axon, of Hillview Crescent, Rosehearty, was ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work.
Sheriff Robert McDonald said: “This court along with others takes cases of domestic abuse very seriously.”
