But witnesses who saw him staggering in the car park of the Co-op store in Conon Bridge reported Gediminas Kazakevicius to the police. When he was stopped, a breath test revealed he had almost six times the permitted amount of alcohol in his system on July 15. Defence solicitor Patrick O’ Dea said his client, of Barley Row, Conon Bridge, had been in this country for 14 years. He added: “He had a bad week at work and has no idea why he drove his car after drinking more than a bottle of whisky.” Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood fined the chef £800 and banned him from driving for two years.
