A 20-year-old Fortrose woman who sent offensive and menacing text messages to police was remanded in custody pending a social work background report.
Inverness Sheriff Court was told that Elizabeth Gibson of Feddon Hill had just been released from a custodial sentence for making nuisance calls to police.
Gibson admitted sending the messages earlier this month and also pleaded guilty to making other nuisance calls to the 999 emergency number between March and July.
Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood was told Gibson had been released early from her sentence three weeks before the latest offences were committed.
Gibson was remanded in custody and will re-appear on August 9.
