Two north-east men have gone on trial accused of using a loaded shotgun to stage an armed robbery.
Slessor Buchan, 39, and Scott Fowler, 37, appeared at Aberdeen High Court yesterday in connection with the incident on January 6.
The pair are accused of assaulting and robbing a man within a flat on Finlayson Street.
Prosecutors allege that, “along with others,” the two men, while masked, attempted to strike the man with a knife, pushed him to the ground, kneed him in the face and knelt on him.
Buchan and Fowler are then alleged to have brandished the firearm at the man’s face and demanded drugs and money from him.
They are also charged with removing his trousers, “seizing him” by the neck and pressing the gun against his head before firing it into the ceiling.
It is then said to have been pointed at the man’s face before one of the men is alleged to have pulled the trigger.
The pair are said to have made off with the man’s wallet, £118 in cash, a mobile phone, pouch of tobacco and cigarettes.
In addition they have been charged with “recklessly” discharging the shotgun into the ceiling and carrying a loaded weapon and a knife in Gallowhill Road and Gray Street, which are both public places.
The pair deny all the charges.
The trial, before Lord Uist, continues.
