A 23-year-old Nairn man will have to wait until August 23 to discover if his £24,000 Audi Q5 is going to be forfeited for his second drink driving offence.
Kieran Wilson of Acres Street, appeared from custody at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday and admitted driving while 1 and a half times the legal limit in Maggot Road, Nairn on July 31.
The court was told a friend had too much to drink after drowning his sorrows following some bad news.
Defence solicitor Aileen MacInnes said: “He was prevailed upon to drive his friend home and he made a bad decision, especially given his previous convictions of three years ago.”
Sentence was deferred by Sheriff Margaret Neilson for a background report, Wilson was banned from driving in the interim, and she will decide on forfeiture of the vehicle when he re-appears.
