A teenager who caused £1,200 worth of damage to her room in homeless accommodation was ordered to carry out 160 hours of unpaid work.
Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood also ordered Cherise Davidson, 18, of High Street, Inverness, to remain under social work supervision for two years.
Inverness Sheriff Court was told yesterday by defence solicitor David Patterson that Davidson had “a difficult upbringing”.
“Her past seem to be the root cause of her offending and she doesn’t trust people in authority. She is repaying the cost of the damage.” Mr Patterson went on.
Davidson admitted maliciously damaging furniture and a TV and behaving in an abusive and threatening manner towards police on February 13.
She also pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening manner and resisting arrest in Inglis Street on July 21.
