A 54-year-old Inverness man downloaded child porn while on his travels through Scotland, the city sheriff court heard yesterday.
A background report was called for by Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood on John Baillie, of Culcabock Road, and he will be sentenced on October 26.
He admitted downloading indecent images of young girls about 10 years of age, both clothed and naked, between January and August, 2017.
He also pleaded guilty to possessing a two explicit videos and 22 still images, 21 of which were at the lowest end of the obscene scale.
Depute fiscal Robert Weir told the court was told that Baillie had engaged in chat rooms initially about football but it had evolved into viewing child porn.
Mr Weir added that Baillie later told police that he had “become addicted” and he went from doing this once a week to every other day.
Defence solicitor Pauline Chapman reserved her comments until sentencing. Baillie had his bail continued but was placed on the Sex Offender’s Register.
