A Fraserburgh man has appeared at the town’s sheriff court on a petition alleging attempted murder following an incident in Saltoun Square on September 30.
Mark Stephen faces charges of assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and attempted murder.
He also faces charges of carrying a blade or sharply pointed object and assaulting or impeding a police officer.
The 37-year-old made no plea or declaration during a brief private appearance and was committed for further examination.
Stephen was remanded in custody to reappear at court on a later date.
