Louise Howie was found with cannabis resin and a single ecstasy tablet at HMP Grampian in Peterhead on December 21 last year. The 34-year-old appeared at the town’s sheriff court yesterday to plead guilty to being in possession of class A and B drugs. Fiscal depute Ruaridh McAlister told the court Howie was visiting the prison when a drugs dog detected the illicit substances. He said 0.5 grams of cannabis resin and one ecstasy tablet were discovered. Defence agent Sam Milligan said the drugs were Howie’s own “personal items” and were found within her purse and a cigarette tin. Howie, of Helen Street in Arbroath, was fined £250.
