An Inverness woman who assaulted another addict during a row over alleged stolen drugs was jailed for 60 days yesterday.
Michaela MacMillan, of Cypress Place, appeared for sentence at Inverness Sheriff Court after Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood had deferred her case for a background report last month.
At that hearing, MacMillan appeared with three other accused and admitted punching a Glasgow woman in a flat in Friars Street, Inverness, on April 22.
Inverness brothers Brian, 41, and Derek MacLeod, 40, were each jailed for 22 months for their role in the assault on the woman and her male friend. Marsali Jack, 35, was imprisoned for 120 days.
Defence lawyer Graham Mann said his 27-year-old client “had engaged with a peer group which has done her no favours and she was taking drugs”.
