Billie-Jo Monaghan and Aaron Rossiter are accused of stealing a handbag from an 85-year-old on Broad Street, Peterhead on Wednesday. They are claimed to have taken the item from Margaret Buchan who was in her car at the time. Monaghan and Rossiter, both 24, appeared at Peterhead Sheriff Court yesterday and pleaded not guilty to a single charge of theft. The duo, whose address was given in court papers as Longate, Peterhead, will return to the court in February. Police launched an appeal for information following the alleged incident on Wednesday afternoon. Sergeant James Callander thanked those who responded to their calls for information. He said: “I would also like to thank the community for its support while enquiries were carried out.”
