A Scottish waitress said to have twerked on top of an ambulance denies damaging property.
A Scottish waitress who is claimed to have twerked on top of an ambulance after England’s World Cup quarter final win over Sweden denied damaging property yesterday.
Larissa Bell, 21, is said to have been filmed waving her arms in the air standing on top of the emergency vehicle near London Bridge station while being cheered on by boozed-up football fans on 7 July.
Scott Dennett, 25, Singaporean Perry Kangyue Jian, 26, and James Elton, 27, were allegedly part of the crowd which spilled out into Borough High Street to celebrate England’s 2-0 victory.
The rapid response car was left with a shattered windscreen and dents in its bonnet.
Bell, of East Kilbride, Glasgow, Dennett, of Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire, and Jian, of Poplar, east London, all denied damaging property at Inner London Crown Court.
Elton, of West Hampstead, northwest London, is yet to enter a plea to the charge.
London Ambulance Service had condemned the incident, writing on Twitter: “We’re delighted with the result, but this has put a big dampener on the celebrations for us.
“While our officer attended a call nearby, this car was damaged in Borough High Street during the celebrations after the game – it’s now off the road to be repaired.”
England’s win over Sweden, which took place in the Russian city of Samara, saw the Red Lions secure their place in the semi-final.
Bell, Dennett and Jian were bailed ahead of a five day trial at Inner London Crown Court on 24 June.
Elton will appear separately at the court next month.
