A 36-year-old Inverness delivery driver who developed a cocaine habit will be sentenced next month for possessing the drug with intent to supply.
Martyn Phillips, of Lomond Way in the city, admitted the offence after being caught with over 37 grams of the class A narcotic in his home and a house in Lilac Grove on November 17, 2017,
Inverness Sheriff Court heard the two properties were raided by police who found scales, £65 in cash, a wrap of cocaine and a packet containing 36.9 grams of the drug.
Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood was told that the actual value of the recovery was uncertain as the purity of cocaine was not known. But he was told it could be between £700 – £1,850.
Defence solicitor advocate Shahid Latif said: “The majority of the drugs were for his personal use and a small amount was to be commercially supplied to those who were similar users.”
Phillips, who admitted previous convictions but none for drugs, will re-appear on February 22.
