A man has appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court in connection with an incident involving a taxi in the Balloan Road area of the city at the weekend.
Police Scotland confirmed that officers were called to the incident at around 2am on Sunday, January 27, involving a number of men and appealed for witnesses.
The force then issued a statement that three men had been charged and were expected to appear in court yesterday.
However, only 29-year-old Imran Ahmed from, Inverness, appeared in private before Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood.
He made no plea to a charge of assault to severe injury, was committed for further examination and released on bail.
