Five people died in the horrific incident, including a four-year-old, on the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness road near Keith on July 26 last year. Alfredo Ciociola has now appeared at Elgin Sheriff Court charged with causing the collision that involved a car and a minibus shortly before midnight. The 46-year-old, who lives in Sicilly, faces a single charge of causing death by dangerous driving. Ciociola made no plea during the hearing, which was held in private. He had his case committed for further examination and was granted bail.
