A high speed chase through a Glenurquhart village cost a 28-year-old Balnain man a £700 fine.
Scott Douglas was also banned from driving for 15 months at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday after he admitted driving dangerously through Drumnadrochit, Rychraggan and Balnain at speeds of up to 90mph on February 24 last year.
Sheriff Margaret Neilson was told his car was seen driving through the village at high speed and police pursued him but failed to catch forestry worker Douglas, Upperton.
His car was later found parked and abandoned.
