A 55-year-old former self-employed joiner who took exception to police trying to arrest him in his home was fined £270 yesterday.
Anthony Lucas tensed his arms and made it difficult for two of seven officers who had gone to a property in Windsor Place, Conon Bridge, to take him into custody.
Lucas, of St John Ogilivie House, Firhill, Alness admitted at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday to obstructing and hindering the officers in the course of their duty on April 12 last year.
Sheriff Robert Macdonald was told that Lucas let the police into his home before resisting them.
Defence solicitor advocate Mike Chapman told the court: “He co-operated fully initially but when one of the officers seized him violently by the arm, he briefly locked his arms to show that he was not happy about the way he was being treated.
“But he quickly became compliant again.” Mr Chapman added.
